“Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is the continuing commitment by business to contribute to economic development while improving the quality of life of the workforce and their families as well as of the community and society at large.” (

Many of us want to support corporately responsible corporations. We want to feel right about our purchases. However, just knowing which corporations are responsible may not be enough to make our day-to-day food choices.Picture1.png

This is the reason behind our organization. We know that people have a desire to make the right decisions. We know that there is a trend in that direction. However, we also understand that people value convenience and taste over things like sustainability. We aim to teach that fresh, sustainable, in season food is the best tasting, most responsible, and healthiest option possible.

Consider the following infographics from a study conducted by the International Food Information Council. The original infographic can be found here.

The biggest driver is taste. Fresh, in-season, and sustainable food simply tastes better. It doesn’t take much to figure that part out!!

Confidence in our country’s food supply is misplaced at best. We need to be far less trusting of this.

Here are some tools to help:

Monterey Bay Seafood Watch – Provides a search of all seafood with sustainability ratings and alternate options…they even have an app on the App store

Natural Resources Defense Council – A search tool for foods in season in your local area

“there is likely no other sector that is as highly dependent on natural resources as the food sector while at the same time having considerable and diverse impacts on the environment” M. Hartmann
